Barry Nelson, CFP®
Barry has been with Capital Financial Planners, LLC since 2001 and a Member (owner) of the firm since 2007. He graduated magna cum laude from Willamette University where he held a number of student leadership positions.
Barry has provided expert witness testimony on financial planning matters, is a member of the Financial Planning Association, and serves on the Board of the Willamette Valley Estate Planning Council. In addition to his professional activities, he is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Salem and has served on a number of other non-profit Boards, including service as President of Willamette Master Chorus and Treasurer of Salem Chamber Orchestra.
A Salem native, Barry has been a vocalist from an early age and continues to sing with local ensembles. In addition to singing, he enjoys woodworking, umpiring (yes, umpiring) Little League baseball, and spending time with his wife, Heather, and sons, Carter and Sawyer.
Chad Campbell, CTFA®
Chad joined Capital Financial Planners, LLC in 2013 after serving as a Vice President and Trust Officer (Certified Trust & Financial Advisor) at a regional trust company. He became a Member (owner) of the firm in 2016. He is passionate about helping clients find the solutions they need to meet their objectives and providing wealth management services for families, trusts, conservatorships, estates, and non-profit organizations.
Chad has served on the Boards of the Willamette Valley Estate Planning Council, the Oregon Banker’s Association (OBA) Trust Committee, the Salem Chamber Orchestra (Treasurer), and is the President-Elect of the Rotary Club of South Salem. Chad is a graduate of George Fox University and the Cannon Financial Institute.
As a third generation Oregonian, Chad is deeply rooted to this community. He and his wife, Janet, a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Salem, and their two daughters, Annika and Addison, live in South Salem. He enjoys reading, physical exercise, and outdoor recreation.
As our Operations and Client Services Manager, Danae Johnson is often the first person to greet people when walking in the door or calling the office. She has been with Capital Financial Planners, LLC since 2008, and has been securities licensed since 2012. Being an incredibly detail oriented individual, Danae is the go-to person when it comes to anything concerning the administrative details of client accounts. She also doubles as a financial advisor, and can help to answer client account questions.
Danae is an Oregon native and graduate of the Lillis School of Business at the University of Oregon. When not assisting clients or rooting on the sports teams of her alma mater, Danae enjoys playing golf, reading, and participating in team sports. Danae is involved in the Salem community, having coached several youth sports teams.
Megan is our Administrative Assistant and has been with Capital Financial Planners since 2014. She is often the first person to greet clients when they come in the door and is the cheerful voice you hear when calling the office. Megan takes a primary role in preparing paperwork to open and maintain client accounts. Having her Notary certificate, she takes care of notarizing any of our in-house forms and would be happy to serve as your Notary, should the need arise.
Originally from the Seattle area, Megan now lives in South Salem and is an active volunteer with the Willamette Humane Society. In her spare time, she can often be found walking the shelter dogs, participating in outreach programs, or educating children about animal welfare.
